Ponti – Our history has a different taste
In 1867, Giovanni Ponti founded a small production plant in Sizzano for wine and vinegar. For almost 150 years, five generations of the Ponti family have built up this small operation step-by-step into an internationally recognised company.
The Ponti family has two original product groups – wine vinegars of many varieties and the famous “Aceto Balsamico di Modena”. This successful product is the result of the slow blending of grape must with fine wine vinegar. It is further refined in barrels made from high quality wood such as oak, chestnut, mulberry or juniper, without the addition of any other substances. “Aceto Balsamico di Modena“ was awarded a protected geographical indication in 2009, thus preserving the millennia long tradition of the product. The family Ponti makes a valuable contribution to this history using their many years of experience, selecting only the best ingredients, and complying with strict production rules.
Over the years, Ponti has expanded its range with new product groups such as cider vinegars, antipasti and glassas. Here as well, the company places a great emphasis on tradition, quality and carefully selected ingredients. Ponti’s first priority is the needs of their consumers. Thus, Ponti offers product lines both for households and the catering trade.
Today, the company has a total of five state-of-the-art production sites, which are certified to the highest level in line with the applicable international quality standards.
Preserving the high quality of traditional Italian products and making them available around the world – this has been the mission of the Ponti family since 1867.
